GE uses Just-in-time (JIT) approach to ensure raw materials are available. This process also limits the storage requirements, but increases risks associated with vendor performance. GE operates on a global scale and must account for regional influences that impact operations. For example, we discussed how violence in a region could impact operational cost due to employee security. Technology is truly universal and innovation leads the way, but local influences can prevent operational execution.
